Beyond the Blue

Beyond the Blue – Gel Plate Impressionism

Hello crafty friends. It is time for another BTB challenge. This week we are trying this super fun technique from Lydia Fiedler using our gel presses. I have to admit that this was a challenge for me and it took a few sessions of playing before I go the hang of it, so don’t give up!

For this card I used some of my favorite colors, Speckled Egg & Seedless Preserves. The background image is Post Script from Stampin’ Up and I used Versafine Clair ink for that. It seemed to give me the most crisp look of all the inks I tried. The main image, Lorynee Girl from Picket Fence Studios, was stamped with Versamark and embossed with black EP. Isn’t she just adorable! I used my Graph’it markers to color her – I just love the fine tip nib they have. I feel like she has a spirit of Wandlerlust just like me and she is dreaming of the next adventure she is about to begin. A couple of layered ribbons finishes the card off.

I would love for you to play along with us! Give this technique a try and post your card to our page so that I can see your creations. I can’t wait to see what you come up with.

Have an amazing week! Hugs & happy stamping!

Jen
