Welcome to Beyond the Blue!
I am so excited to be back to card making, blogging and creating. Today I am so excited to announce a BRAND NEW challenge Blog!
Last year, during the pandemic but before Cancer, I knew I needed something to keep me busy and while I tried a few other hobbies, my soul really missed paper crafting. Somehow in the book of faces I came upon a group offered by Lydia Fiedler where she offered a daily live video sharing her amazing talent for stamping, using the gel press and so much more. After just a few days I was hooked and I have been a part of the group ever since. We have learned so so much and now we are bringing some of those tutorials, and others she has shared through the years back to life at the new Beyond the Blue Challenge Blog. Yes….she knows about the new challenge blog….yes we have her blessing and full support, and we hope from time to time she will join us in playing along!
Not only do we want you to learn new techniques, but we want you to actually create something with them! Shocking, I know…I am guilty of this as well which is why I am so excited to be a part of this team. Each week BTB will share a video with you and then we each create a project using that technique/tutorial/idea. This isn’t limited to just cards so feel free to think outside of the box! Tags, journal pages, 3D items – anything goes.
So, without further ado here is the first video and challenge: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lvdcVhTgl2s
Here is the card I made

This card uses the Ring Stack stencil from Fun Stampers Journey, with dye ink in Sky Blue, Sweet Sugarplum & Peekaboo Peach from Stampin’ Up! I used the same colors and a water brush to color the floral image,Rustic Floral which is from one of my favorite companies –Picket Fence Studios. The flower and vase was then die cut using the coordination dies and is popped up from the background layer with a little bit of mounting foam.
I would love to have you play along with us! When you do, please come back and leave me a link to your blog so that I can check it out.Challenges will be posted each Friday morning and run for 2 weeks so you have lots of time.
Thank you for stopping by, and I look forward to seeing what you create!
Hugs and happy stamping!
Jen
