A Good Day

Hello crafty friends! I am so excited to share this card with you today and give you a step by step tutorial so you can create this as well!

This card is so simple to make but has such a WOW factor using gorgeous colors and different techniques. Are you ready to learn how? Great! Let’s get started!

First off, gather all of your supplies. These will also be listed at the bottom of this post and if you need to order anything, just click the photo and it will take you right to my store.

The first step is to cut your Pool Party card base in half vertically so that you end up with a piece that measures 4 1/4″ X 11″. Fold this in half and grab your Die Cutting/Embossing Machine. Emboss the front half of your cardstock using the Fiddle Leaf Folder.

Next, you will ink up the flower image  with Bubble Gum ink. Use a sponge apply a small amount of Raspberry Berry ink to the center of the flower and the stamen.

To create leaves, add a few drops of Limeaid Splash Liquid Color to a large block. Use this as an “inkpad” and stamp your leaves into the ink a few times then stamp onto the Whip Cream card stock. When everything is all stamped out use your die cuts and machine to cut them out.

Now that your pieces are cut out grab some foam squares and let’s pop these up!

Stamp the sentiment with the Raspberry Berry ink and cut it out using an oval die. Add more foam squares to the back and assemble all of your pieces.

The final touch is some Journey Glaze to the flower and once that is dry a small pearl from the Cottage Pearls. Simple, yet oh so elegant!

See how easy that was! Now, you try it! Thanks so much for stopping by today. I’d love to hear from you so leave me a comment about this project.

Don’t forget that FSJ is having an amazing sale right now on our Mixed Media items so be sure to check that out as well.

Review – Fun Stampers Journey

Hello everyone! Today I want to share with you my thoughts and a few projects I have made with products from Fun Stampers Journey.

This company is very new to me, but not new to the paper crafting world. They began almost 4 years ago and are based out of Phoenix Arizona. Started by Richard and Gabby Garay, FSJ has a complete line of products for your paper crafting needs.

I ordered a few products to try out and see what I thought.

Stamps are made in the USA of high quality red rubber, deeply etched to stamp a clear image every time. Each is mounted on cling foam that has the image laser printed and they stick to the clear blocks all the time! No sticker means no stamps falling off! I did a test and tried to shake the stamp off as hard as I possibly could and it never came off. Impressive!

FSJ offers an ink that is amazing. It is called True Color Fusion Ink. True Color Fusion pads are a Hybrid pad, a blend of both dye and pigment!  You get the crisp rich color of pigment ink but it dries with the speed of dye ink!  No bleeding, waterproof, great on all surfaces and every color has matching card stock.  AND, there are 50 colors to choose from, so you have a huge selection to choose from. Another fun ink product that I loved right away are the Silks. Journey Silks provide a metallic shimmer effect in a concentrated form. Use to dab, flick, and drop color directly onto your projects, or apply with one of our artist brushes for more control.

Now for a few of the projects I have made. These photos are raw and some projects are incomplete since I just wanted to get a feel for what I had ordered.

This card was made using the Sweet You stamp set. I stamped the image in some black Momento ink that I had on hand and colored using my new Ohuhu alcohol markers.

This was another image from the Sweet You set, this time stamped on Daffodil Delight card stock using FSJ’s Whip Cream Ink. I am very impressed with how crisp the lines are even with a craft ink pad. It took only seconds to dry and did not smear at all when I was coloring with watercolor pencils.

Lastly I painted the Gold Silk onto the flower from the ATS set Lovely Day and then stamped onto my card stock. My coloring job wasn’t the greatest but I love the effect of using the silks as the ink to stamp with.

Over all I am very impressed with the quality of the products that FSJ offers. Their catalog is extensive at 318 pages as well as offering seasonal catalogs, a monthly subscription card kit and 3 starter kits options to choose from! These are all amazing deals and I will be sharing more about those later this week.

I would love to hear your thoughts and I am here to answer any questions you have. It’s been a journey already since I decided to make a change of direction with my crafting and I am excited to have you along!

April International Blog Highlights

Welcome back to another International Blog Highlight. This month our theme is weddings. I know that we will have a few weddings this year and I do love making handmade cards for these special occasions. This month I did something non-traditonal and I am super happy with how it turned out.

Non Traditional wedding card for Kylie Bertucci's International Blog Highlight. For more information and inspiration visit www.faithgracestamp.com

The base layer is Very Vanilla, even though it is hard to tell and then I cut out the Detailed Floral Thinlits on a sheet of Urban Underground Designer Series Paper. I then layered a piece of vellum behind that and did the stained glass technique for the flowers. The tiny pearls give a dainty accent to the flowers and the soft stain ribbon gives it an elegant touch. This is so bright and fun for a summer wedding, don’t you agree?

I would love it so much if you would visit Kylie’s blog and vote for my card. The top 10 cards will earn a spot in an International Blog Hop and I would love to participate!

Thanks so much for stopping by today. If you like my card please be sure to leave me a comment and subscribe to the blog so you never miss a post!

March Inkspiration

Good morning crafty friends. It’s time for another fun challenge with the gals from SSInk.

Our inkspiration today is:

My creation is a scene I created for one of the raffles at Inking Idaho on the Road 2017. I was inspired by projects I saw on Pintrest and decided to take them to a new level.

A fun and adorable Easter scene created with many 3-d framelits and dies from Stampin' Up! For more information and inspiration visit www.faithgracestamp.com

Street Scene was created on an 8″ X 16″ canvas from Hobby Lobby

Houses were created using the Sweet Home Thinlits

The Thoughtful Branches Bundle was used for the tree

The bunny and the grass are a part of the Basket Bunch/ Basket Builder Bundle in the Occasions Catalog. Each door of the house has a window sheet so that it can be filled with the chocolate eggs.

The roofs had a small magnet on each of them so they could be opened and closed.

The Tasty Truck stamp set  from Sale-A-Bration was perfect for the street.

This project was a huge hit and it was so very fun to make. It was a project like none that I have done before but it stretched me greatly and I am so happy that I took it on.

If you liked this, please let me know in the comments and be sure to subscribe to receive future posts via email.
