All about Fusion Inks!

Fun Stampers Journey Ink Pads 20% off this Month!

Many of you have asked, what is fusion ink?
It is a fusion between pigment and dye ink and creates the most amazing impression with your stamps.  It looks like a regular stamp pad, but the product is quite different.
Let’s talk ink in general…
Dye Inks are permanent and translucent and have a thin consistency like water so they tend to dry quickly. You can’t color in dye based stamped images with paint, markers, pens or other water-based mediums because the ink will run together. You can, however, use colored pencils. Many dye-based inks are acid-free, however the color fades over time, especially in sunlight. Dye inks have a felt-based stamp pad. Ink pads should be stored upside-down to keep the ink on the surface of the pad.
Pigment Inks are opaque and have a thicker, richer consistency than dye-based ink and take longer to dry. Pigment inks are usually brighter and more vibrant and are fade-resistant. They are perfect to use with heat embossing powders to create a glossy effect. Pigment inks have a foam-based stamp pad. Ink pads are usually very juicy so should be stored right side up so you don’t get an inky mess.
With our True Color Fusion Inks you have the best of the two worlds. Our ink pads have the vibrant ink and archival features of pigment and the ease of use and fast drying characteristics of dye inks. True Color Fusion Inks are fade resistant and acid-free. This combination makes our ink pads the best on the market today. True Fusion Color Inks will become permanent when stamped on glass, fabric, wood, plastic, metal and clay when heat set.
Introducing True Color Fusion Ink
Care and Use of Fusion Ink
I’ve been using fusion ink pads on all projects posted to this blog since the end of May.  I could not be happier!  No sagging in the middle with larger stamps, no lines or inconsistencies with reinking, you do not have to store them upside down, they are really quite perfect and I know you will love them!

Adventure Awaits

Hello crafty friends. I am so excited to share a card with you today! It has been way too long since I’ve blogged. To be honest, I have been enjoying this summer with my family and both crafting and blogging have taken a bit of a back seat. As summer begins to wind down, I am ready to get back to crafting, creating and bringing paper to life.

Stunning background using Pan Pastels by Fun Stampers Journey. For more inkspiration visit

The showcase of this card is the background, which was created using the Pan Pastels in the Party Pop palette. These pastels are unlike anything I’ve used before. Soft and creamy, bright and bold but easily blendable & have the ability to create custom colors. These are such an amazing product and will be featured as one of the techniques this month, at Technique Class. I would love to have you join me! The airplane is from the Begin Adventure stamp set and is finished off with some Journey Glaze. I think the glaze is my new favorite product. I am adding it to EH-vry-thing!!

In case you haven’t heard yet – Fusion Stamp Pad’s are on sale this month, so it’s the perfect time to stock up! What makes Fun Stampers Journey ink different? It’s a hybrid of pigment AND dye ink that produces crisp, clear images and works on a HUGE variety of surfaces and with many types of mixed media products. There is nothing else on the market like our exclusive Fusion Inks!

Review – Fun Stampers Journey

Hello everyone! Today I want to share with you my thoughts and a few projects I have made with products from Fun Stampers Journey.

This company is very new to me, but not new to the paper crafting world. They began almost 4 years ago and are based out of Phoenix Arizona. Started by Richard and Gabby Garay, FSJ has a complete line of products for your paper crafting needs.

I ordered a few products to try out and see what I thought.

Stamps are made in the USA of high quality red rubber, deeply etched to stamp a clear image every time. Each is mounted on cling foam that has the image laser printed and they stick to the clear blocks all the time! No sticker means no stamps falling off! I did a test and tried to shake the stamp off as hard as I possibly could and it never came off. Impressive!

FSJ offers an ink that is amazing. It is called True Color Fusion Ink. True Color Fusion pads are a Hybrid pad, a blend of both dye and pigment!  You get the crisp rich color of pigment ink but it dries with the speed of dye ink!  No bleeding, waterproof, great on all surfaces and every color has matching card stock.  AND, there are 50 colors to choose from, so you have a huge selection to choose from. Another fun ink product that I loved right away are the Silks. Journey Silks provide a metallic shimmer effect in a concentrated form. Use to dab, flick, and drop color directly onto your projects, or apply with one of our artist brushes for more control.

Now for a few of the projects I have made. These photos are raw and some projects are incomplete since I just wanted to get a feel for what I had ordered.

This card was made using the Sweet You stamp set. I stamped the image in some black Momento ink that I had on hand and colored using my new Ohuhu alcohol markers.

This was another image from the Sweet You set, this time stamped on Daffodil Delight card stock using FSJ’s Whip Cream Ink. I am very impressed with how crisp the lines are even with a craft ink pad. It took only seconds to dry and did not smear at all when I was coloring with watercolor pencils.

Lastly I painted the Gold Silk onto the flower from the ATS set Lovely Day and then stamped onto my card stock. My coloring job wasn’t the greatest but I love the effect of using the silks as the ink to stamp with.

Over all I am very impressed with the quality of the products that FSJ offers. Their catalog is extensive at 318 pages as well as offering seasonal catalogs, a monthly subscription card kit and 3 starter kits options to choose from! These are all amazing deals and I will be sharing more about those later this week.

I would love to hear your thoughts and I am here to answer any questions you have. It’s been a journey already since I decided to make a change of direction with my crafting and I am excited to have you along!

Mixing it Up!

It’s time to mix things up a little here on the blog. And to get us started, I have my first Mixed Media card for your enjoyment. This card was inspired by the challenge over at the Design Junkies website and their weekly Technique Junkies challenge.

The challenge this week was to use a stencil on your card.n I haven’t used stencils in years and this was the perfect time to get back into it!

Fun mixed media card created by Jen Guarino. For more inspiration visit

The first stencil created the watercolored look with Pool Party ink on white card stock. The second stencil used were the Encore Gold dots. A few strips of washi tape, some handmade scallop flowers with Gold Wink of Stella and some gold accents rounded the card off. The sentiment is from  Stampabilities.

As a first project I have to say that I am pretty pleased with how it turned out. I look forward to more experiementing with mixing all different types of media and eventually holding classes for this fun art form soon.

Thanks for stopping by the blog. It’s still a work in progress as I transition from old to new but I would love to hear from  you!

Change isn’t always bad

So many people I know do not like change.

They are afraid of change, or what the change will bring or mean. I no longer fear change and in fact, after the past two years I embrace every change that The Lord brings me to, because I know He will bring me though it.
I wanted to take this opportunity to let you know that I have decided to step down from Stampin’ Up! I have loved my time as a demonstrator and I still love paper crafting. I am excited to continue my passion to learning and teaching classes but will be offering products from other companies as well and branching out to include things such as mixed media, hand lettering, home decor and more. I will still be having classes at my home and at others homes as requested. I will still be active on Facebook, Instagram and as you see am launching a new website featuring all aspects of my creative journey. I hope you will join my on my journey! I expect many exciting things to come!
