Making Spirits Bright

Hello everyone and happy Monday! I hope you had a wonderful weekend. Did you see the Supermoon Lunar Eclipse last night? Amazing wasn’t it?
Today I wanted to share with you one of the cards we will make this week at the monthly Christmas Card Stamp a Stack. Guests will have their choice of card base to make it even more personal.

I absolutly love the simplicity of this card and the vintage, distressed look that the ink gives to the trees of the Woodlands Embossing folder.
 Woodlands Embossing folder
Add texture and depth to the trees by using a dauber and ink onto the raised portions of your cardstock.
This ornaments and sentiment could be changed to any color and would still be stunning. Add a few gold accents and voila! Clean, simple and gorgeous!
Want to try this yourself? You can! Join me Thursday at 6:30pm or Friday morning at 11AM and get a hard start on your cards at my monthly Christmas Stamp A Stack. Email me for more information or to reserve your spot.
Thanks for stopping by today. Let me know your thoughts on this project by leaving me a little love in the form of a comment. Be sure to subscribe to the blog so you never miss another post.

Tic Tac Tutorial

Hello friends! It’s been a busy 1st week of September around these parts. Birthdays, youth outreach events, getting caught up from vacation and then friends in town for the holiday weekend. I hope that things have been going well for you!
In July, I participated in a Treat Swap at Convention in Salt Lake City. My treat holder was an original creation and I have had some requests for directions so today I present to you my very first tutorial!!!! Creating something like a tutorial was very overwhelming for me and I decided I just needed to face my fears and do it. So, without further ado…..
Start with a piece of card stock measuring 4.5″ X 6″
Using your Simply Scored Scoring Tool, score the short side of your card stock at 3/4″ and 3-3/4″
then score the long side of your card stock at 5/8″, 1-3/8″, 3-3/8″ and 4″
Cut some coordinating Designer Series Paper so that you have the following
2 at 2-3/4″ X 1-3/4″
2 at 1/2″ X 1-3/4″
1 at 1/2″ X 2-3/4″
You will also need a piece of coordinating card stock cut to 3/8″ X 2-1/2″ and scored at 1/2″, 3/4″, 1-3/4″ and 2″

Using Multipurpose Liquid Glue, adhere the designer series paper to the card stock, leaving the top side sections blank. These are folded in and never seen or cut away.
Fold along all score lines and crease using your bone folder.

Using your paper snips, cut on the first and second horizontal score lines from the bottom up to the vertical score line and cut a small V into each to make folding easier. Repeat on the opposite side.
Next, cut away the top two side sections on the score lines on each side of the box.
When you are done, your box should look like this:
Using your Liquid glue you can now assemble the box, fold your handle and attach to the top.
Cut a 5/8″ Velcro circle into quarters

Attach the soft side of the velcro to the lid of your box and fold over to find the proper placement of the rough side. Press firmly to make sure that each half is securely in place.
Voila! Your box is now complete!! Just add Tic Tac’s!

I hope that you love this project as much as I do. If you would like a printable version of the tutorial, click here
I would love to know your thoughts on this so leave me a comment! Don’t forget to subscribe to the blog so that you never miss another post.

ICS Blog Hop – Introducing the Holiday Catalog!

Hello Hoppers and welcome to the September edition of the Inspire, Create, Share Blog Hop. You may have hopped here from Amanda’s Blog or this could be your first stop. Either way, I am so glad to have you here.
Today we are showcasing our favorite products from the just released 2015 Holiday Catalog by Stampin’ Up! This year’s catalog is packed with so many amazing products – I want them all! If you don’t have a catalog yet and would like me to mail you one, just let me know!
One of my favorite bundles is the Jingle All the Way stamp set and matching Sleigh Ride Edgelits Dies. As soon as I saw it during the unveiling at Stampin’ Up! North American Convention in July, I knew it would be one of the first things I purchased.
This stamp set includes 13 stamps and 3 coordinating edgelits so that you are able to make a variety of scenes on your cards, scrapbooks pages or projects. Once cut, the edgelits can be flipped over to be used in reverse and adds even more versatility to the set. I cannot wait to share some of the other ways I have been using this set with you in the coming weeks and months. It is a stand out for sure! Using the 4 different colors of cardstock for this card gave the project depth and dimension and I think really helps set the scene. I love the glitter effect for snow using the Dazzling Details underneath the sleigh.  You can find all of the supplies used for my card at the bottom of this post and you can purchase all of them at my online store.
Now, it’s time to hop on over to Deb’s Blog and see her fantastic project!
